How to enable split-tunneling

Pick apps and sites that should bypass the VPN.

What it is

Split-tunneling sends some traffic through the VPN and some direct. Typical scenarios:

  • Banks direct (to avoid antifraud flags), Netflix via VPN.
  • Browser only via VPN on Windows/macOS — other apps go direct.
  • Game only via VPN — reduce ping without reroute everything.

How to enable

Menu → Settings → Split-tunneling. Options:

  1. Per app (desktop): a list of installed apps + drag-and-drop. Inclusive (VPN for selected only) or exclusive (VPN for all except selected).
  2. Per domain/IP: a list in example.com or 192.168.0.0/16 form. Works on all platforms.
  3. Per category (rule bundles from EPIC K): "Russian sites direct", "Social media via VPN", "Banks direct". Curated lists with auto-updates.

Limitations

  • iOS and Android rely on the system API, which only partly supports per-app rules. Category rules work; exact per-app works on Android 8+ only.
  • Kill-switch + split-tunneling: the kill-switch only guards the VPN path. The bypass slice keeps working if the tunnel drops. That's by design.
